Warcry
Warcry is a strategy game about drafting an army in secret, then finding out immediately whether your choices were any good.
You get a fixed budget to spend before every battle. Your Warlord is mandatory and free, place it anywhere in your back rank. Everything else, Archers, Cavalry, Catapults, extra Footmen, is yours to buy however you want. The Silicon Commander is drafting its own
army in secret at the same time, and neither side sees the other's choices until the battle actually starts.
Once it starts, it's real chess movement on a 6x6 board, no randomness, no dice. Footmen march forward and capture diagonally. Archers slide diagonally as far as they like. Cavalry jumps in an L-shape and can't be blocked. Catapults slide in a straight line. Your
Warlord moves one square in any direction, and if it falls, the battle's over.
Three difficulty levels let you dial in how sharp the Silicon Commander plays, and every battle ends with a real fact, sometimes chess and AI history, sometimes medieval military history, not filler, actual verifiable stuff.
No two drafts play the same, since you're reacting to a budget and a hidden opponent every single time, not memorizing one fixed puzzle.
